People travel on cargo trucks on Christmas day

Accra Dec. 26, GNA – Many people travelling from Accra to various parts of the country on Christmas day boarded cargo trucks to their destination.

Cargo trucks plying Obuasi and Kumasi among other routes charged the same fares normally charged by buses.

A cargo truck from the Neoplan Station in Accra to Obuasi charged the normal fare of 20 thousand cedis.

When GNA visited the station at about 1030 hours there were about a thousand people in queues waiting for vehicles.

Other commercial vehicles at the station ready to convey passengers also delayed for hours without selling tickets with the intension of charging higher fares.
