People of Osu celebrate Homowo

Accra, Aug. 23, GNA – Nii Okwei Kinka Dowuona VI, Chief of Osu in Accra and the people on Tuesday marked this year’s Homowo festival with the sprinkling of traditional food 93Kpokpoi” along the principal streets of Osu and ancestral areas. The ceremony to hoot at hunger also expected to bring blessings and prosperity to the people for good harvest, marriage and development.

Nii Dowuona VI urged the people to unite and contribute to the development of Osu.

He pointed out that for the first time in 60 years, rituals to the Osu Klottey shrine at the Christianborg Castle was performed. Nii Dowuona VI said education should be a priority for the youth as well as sanitation and development of aquaculture to provide employment for the people.

The management of PZ Cussons Ghana Limited, a soap and detergent manufacturing company, presented items worth GH¢3,000 to the chiefs and people towards the celebration. 23 Aug. 11
