People of Kotokuom appeal for reshaping of road

Kotokuom (Ash), Jan. 13, GNA- The people of Kotokuom in the Atwima District of Ashanti have appealed to the Atwima District Assembly and the Department of Feeder Roads to rehabilitate the 15-kilometre road from Kwanfinfi to Saakrom to give relief to commuters on the road. Mr George Boakye-Danquah, chairman of the town’s unit committee, said a lot of communities beyond Kotokuom were the worse affected, especially when transporting cocoa and foodstuffs from the area. He mentioned towns like Akonkye, Barimayena, Katakyia, Anyinasa, Huntaado and Chichimso, all farming communities where foodstuffs sometimes got rotten due to their inability to transport farm produce to the marketing centres due to the bad road.

Mr Boakye-Danquah said the situation had been compounded by the bad bridge over River Offin constructed in 1968 and had become a death trap.
