People of Ahodwo initiate JHS project

Nana Opare Amankwah II, the Chief of Ahodwo in the Eastern Region, has appealed for support to complete a school project initiated by the members of the community.

The project estimated at GH¢ 250.000 is being funded by the chiefs and elders of the town with the people providing communal labour and is expected to be completed in 12 months.

Nana Amankwah made the appeal in an interview with the Ghana News Agency when he inspected the storey building school project which comprised a six-classroom block, an office, a store room, a computer laboratory and a library.

Other facilities are a teachers’ common room and washroom.

Nana Amankwah called on the government, non-governmental organisations and the Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri to assist the community in completing the school.

Reverend Amoah Agyare, the Secretary to the Chief said the junior high school project is being constructed on the compound hosting the primary school, to prevent the students from Ahodwo and its environs from playing truancy.

He said this would go a long way in promoting teaching and learning as it would help parents and school authorities to monitor the movement of the students.

Rev Agyare urged parents and guardians to enroll their wards in school so that they would not be wanting in the society.
