People of Adaklu pray for peace and prosperity

The chiefs and people of the Adaklu Traditional area on Friday prayed for peace and prosperity for the area, at a vigil.

The people also used the non-denominational all-night prayer session to ask God for peace in Hohoe, the Volta Region and the whole country.

Togbe Gbogbi Atsa V, Paramount Chief of the Adaklu State noted that though the Traditional area was endowed with enormous human and natural resources, it remained “highly underdeveloped” and asked the natives to pray for God’s intervention.

“We’ve tried all we could on our own to no avail. Now it is time to turn to the Almighty God for help,” he said.

The event was initiated by the Ho chapter of the Adaklu Namianyo Association.

Togbe Gbogbi Atsa appealed to the people of Adaklu to invest in the area and open it up for rapid development.

“We have to wake up now. We can’t keep waiting and asking government for everything,” he stated.

Bishop Thywill Oliver, General Overseer of Christ the Founder Church, in a sermon said change in Adaklu was possible and advised the chiefs to work closely with pastors on the Adaklu land.

He asked the people “to ask God for forgiveness of sin” and work hard for the rapid socio-economic development of the area.

Bishop Oliver urged them to “unite, love one another and be godly”.

“God will surely remember Adaklu again and take away every shame if only we can surrender our lives to Him and allow Him to rule on the land,” he said.

The gathering prayed for the smooth take off of the Adaklu District Assembly.**
