Pentecost Church gives scholarship to two students

Kumasi, June 16, GNA – The Bomso congregation of the Church of Pentecost in Kumasi has given scholarships to two needy students in t he community to pursue senior high school education. The church has also provided street lights for the community. The Rev George Owusu, pastor in charge of the church, said this to the Ghana News Agency after the congregation had undertaken a three-hour clean up exercise at Bomso.

The exercise, held in jointly with the Zoomlion, formed part of the church’s Annual Social Service Week Celebration. Rev Owusu said the church would soon launch a scholarship fund to support the needy in the church and the community to further their education. The Assemblyman for Bomso Electoral Area, Mr William Kwame Fordjour, commended the church for its efforts at helping to rid the community of filth and attending to the plight of the needy. He appealed to churches and landlords in the area for logistics to support the neighbourhood watch committee in their operation to fight crime.
