Pee Cola M.D., others held

Seven people, including the Managing Director of Pee Cola Limited, Mr. Haren Patel, were arrested on Thursday by the police following an assault on residents of Agbogloshie, near the Accra Brewery Limited, at dawn, the Ghanaian Times reports on its front-page.

Andrews Cobbina, 27, a car parts dealer at Abossey Okai, is on admission at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, with cutlass wounds following the assaults on him by Patel’s thugs.

The thugs, aged between 20 and 52 years on whom two locally manufactured pistols, seven live cartridges and a dagger were found, were reportedly hired by Mr. Patel to scare people away from a disputed piece of land.

According the story, the thugs harassed and molested anyone found on the land and attacked Cobbina who was returning from work.
