Pedestrian killed by Okada

A 27-year-old farmer of Bonyere, Mr. Amihere Nkrumah Blay, was on Thursday killed by a motorbike at Tikobo Number One in the Western Region.

The deceased was crossing the main road when he was knocked down by the motorbike, Jomoro District Police Commander, Superintendent of Police John Ferguson Dzineku, told GNA at Half Assini.

He said the motorbike was heading towards Nyamekwame, a farming community near Tikobo Number one, from the town when it knocked down the deceased.

He said the deceased was taken Half Assini Government Hospital but died.

Supt Dzineku said the motorbike rider, Mr. Pius Blay, a Farming Assistant of Allowulley near Tikobo Number One, sustained severe injuries and is receiving treatment at Half Assini Government Hospital.

Okada activities in the area had been on the ascendency despite police war against them and police recently arrested 18 of them.
