Peace Corp volunteer gives computers to school

Bolgatanga, Aug 27, GNA- Naba Charles Ayamga, Chief of Zuarungu in the Bolgatanga municipality, has commissioned a 38- million-cedi computer laboratory to Zuarungu Senior Secondary School.

Mr Ning Wang, a Peace Corps teacher at the school and initiator of the computer project, said USAID bought the 25 computers for 26 million cedis and the Zuarungu community and the Bolgatanga District Assembly provided the remaining amount for the project.

Nana Ayamga commended Mr Ning Wang for financing the project and suggested that it should be named after him.

He said he was happy students in Zuarungu Senior Secondary School can now study computer science and advised the school authorities and students to take good care of the computers.

Mrs Agnes Atagabe, Assistant Director for Human Resources and Manpower Development at the Upper East Regional Directorate of Education, praised the Volunteers for their commitment and devotion to serving the people in rural areas and urged Ghanaian teachers to emulate them.

Mr Ning Wang was presented with a smock and a certificate of Honour for his generosity.
