Peace Chapel International opens new branch

Ofankor (G/A), April 27, GNA- Bishop Bright Michael Adofo, General Overseer of Peace Chapel International, has called on Ghanaians to use this year’s elections as a test case to demonstrate their maturity for other countries to emulate.

He expressed his disappointment about elections in some African countries in recent times, which was marred by chaos and violence, plunging some of them into near crisis.

Bishop Adofo made the call in an address read for him at the official opening of the Ofankor branch of the church at Ofankor near Amasaman in the Ga District of the Greater Accra Region on Sunday. This brings to 18, the number of branches the church had opened in the country including one in the United Kingdom.

The General Overseer said Ghana is a peaceful country and that the people should not practice dirty politics, which could affect the peace in the country.

He advised politicians to refrain from using abusive and inflammatory words whenever they mounted platforms, since such utterances could lead to chaos.

Bishop Adofo called on Christians “to pray unto the Lord to elect leaders, who had the development of the nation at heart”. He urged Christians to exercise their franchise on election day, even though the day falls on a Sunday.
