Peace and stability crucial to dev’t – MCE

The Ga West Municipal Assembly has benefitted from the creation of a Divisional Police Command and two additional District Police Commands in the municipality.

The additional Police Commands are Pokuase District Police and Kotoku District Police to complement the one at Amasaman to provide effective maintenance of law and order in the area.

Mr Sam Atukwei Quaye, the Municipal Chief Executive, said this when he addressed the first session of the fourth assembly of the Ga West Municipal Assembly.

He said peace and stability was very crucial to the socio-economic development of any nation, hence the expansion of the security services in the municipality for people to go about their businesses peacefully.

Mr Quaye said a Fire Service Station has also been opened at Kotoku and provided with two additional fire tenders to complement the one at Amasaman to ensure effective service delivery.

The two-storey building, which has been completed as offices for Motor Traffic and Transport Department of the Ghana Police Service, would be handed over to the Police in due course, he said.

The MCE said as soon as office accommodation was made available, DOVVSU and community policing would also start operations in the municipality.
