Patriotic Youth Front congratulates Nana Akufo-Addo

Accra, Aug. 9, GNA – Members of Patriotic Youth Front (PYF) on Monday congratulated Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on election as the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate for Election 2012.

A statement issued in Accra and signed Chief Obosu Mohammed, Director of Communications of PYF said “all said and done, the Will of God has prevailed and the voices of our esteemed delegates have spoken”.

“In view of the tension that characterised the events leading to the flag bearer primaries, we have been able to go through it successfully. We salute all the five aspirants, National Council, National Executives, Election Committees, discerning delegates, members and sympathisers of our party, for conducting themselves in a manner that depict the rich democratic values and ideals laid down by our forebears,” it added.

The statement said “we must be mindful of the things that bind us together as a big elephant family rather than our own individual interests. The curtains have been drawn and the battle has just begun, we must therefore eschew any form of sour grapes and vendetta and throw all our support, energy and intellect to Nana Akufo-Addo, to ensure unity, responsiveness and efficacy for a massive victory in Election 2012.”

The statement said Ghanaians were yearning for the return of NPP to salvage them from the enormous hardship and “we dare not fail them.”
