Pastors urged to be truthful in their duties

Kumasi, April 7, GNA – Ministers of the Gospel have been admonished to be truthful, transparent and sincere in the discharge of their duties in order to sustain the confidence of their members. The Reverend Otuo Acheampong, chairperson of the Asante Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, who made the call, noted that, “As the congregation look up to their leaders for inspiration, it was imperative that ministers of the gospel always adhered to lifestyles worthy of emulation and in harmony with Biblical tenets”. He was delivering the sermon at the Ramseyer Presbyterian Church at Adum in Kumasi to mark Good Friday.

Rev Acheampong further charged Christians to strive to find amicable settlement to conflicts whenever they arose instead of resorting to legal action.

He indicated that taking legal action to settle scores in the church was inimical to the growth of Christianity and also in sharp contrast to the doctrines in the Bible.

He advised that Ghanaians should use the Easter festivities to promote peace, unity and good neighbourliness so as to accelerate the nation’s socio-economic development.
