Reverend James Noble Tulasi, Head Pastor of Jubilee Christian Centre, Ho, on Sunday called on pastors to devote more time to preaching peace and reconciliation ahead of the December polls.
He said, that is the way they would help to diffuse tension before, during and after the elections.
Rev. Tulasi made the call in a sermon to climax the Church’s week-long activities marking the Easter celebrations.
He said reports of open confrontation and attacks at some biometric voters registration centres were indication that a lot needed be done for the populace to appreciate peace and unity.
Rev. Tulasi expressed the hope that regular sermons on peace backed by prayers would see the country through the December elections successfully.
He appealed to churches to regularly intercede in prayers for officials of the Electoral Commission, security services and the media.
Rev. Tulasi warned self-styled prophets to desist from giving false prophesies about the outcome of the elections so as not to create unnecessary tension.**
