Pastor to support the needy in Wenchi

Wenchi (B/A), Dec. 15, GNA – Pastor Joseph Nsoah Mensah in-charge of the Apostolic Continuation Church at Wenchi in the Brong-Ahafo Region has initiated a project to cater for the needy, orphans and widows in the area to promote their welfare. Pastor Mensah, who made this known in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Wenchi on Monday, said he had acquired four building plots at Akrobi, near Wenchi towards the construction of a home to ensure the well being of such people. The project under the name ‘Wenchi Rescue Home’ is currently taking care of six children.

Pastor Mensah appealed to individuals, philanthropist and NGOs for support towards the management of the project, as the project could also enhance the development of the area. He advised his church members to take very good care of themselves during the Christmas festivities, and emphasized that anything negative behaviour about them would dent the name of the church. Mr Charles Afriyie, Secretary of the church cautioned the youth against pre-marital sex, adding that, staying clear from that practice could also make them free from contracting the deadly HIV/AIDS disease. Mr Afriyie stressed the need for the youth to take their education seriously to enable them acquire gainful employments to enhance their living conditions. He said there was the need for Christian parents to draw their children nearer to them at all times and educate them about the teachings of the Bible to enable them develop morally upright lives.
