Pastor arrested for defrauding 7 persons of GHC76,500

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested the Founder and Leader of Generation of Christ Ministries Bishop Charles Boampong alias ‘Cardinal’ at Kwamo, a suburb of Kumasi for defrauding seven persons.

The Police Command explained that the accused Pastor took monies ranging between GH¢ 11,000.00 and GH¢29,700.00 under the pretext of securing them a United States of America (USA) visas.

The suspect is reported to have collected a total amount of Seventy-six thousand five hundred Ghana cedis (GH¢76,500.00) from the victims but failed to secure them the visas as promised.

According to the Police, he was arrested on Saturday April 29, 2017 around 7:am after police intelligence fished him out of his hide out in a bush at Kwamo.

‘The police is using this medium to appeal to all victims who might have fallen prey to his activities to report to the Regional Criminal Investigations Department (RCID) to assist in investigations,’ Deputy Police PRO Inspr. Godwin Ahianyo said in a statement.
