Tema, March 7, GNA – The Rev Osei Kwabena Nkrahene, Senior Pastor of the First Baptist Church at Community Five in Tema, on Sunday reminded Ghanaians that the peace and stability the nation was enjoying was by God’s grace.
“God has been gracious and merciful unto us as a people and for that matter we have every cause to give Him thanks and grace as we celebrate our 54 independence anniversary,” he said. Rev Nkrahene said this at a special Church Service held in Tema to commemorate the anniversary. He said politicians had polarized the country and that events in some parts of Africa should drum home to politicians the need to be careful in their utterances. “As a nation, we are not better off than the ‘hot spots’ on the African continent. Care must, therefore, be taken by our political leaders not to do anything that can lead to chaos and anarchy in the country,” he said.
At the Bethel Methodist Church at Community Eight, Very Reverend William Agyei Mpere-Gyekye, Superintendent Minister, stressed the need for attitudinal change among Ghanaians in order to move the nation forward.
