Pastor accused of murdering British wife granted bail

An Accra Human Rights court has granted bail to the British pastor accused of murdering his wife.

Pastor Eric Isaiah Adusah, 28, has been granted bail to the tune of GhC 200,000 with one surety to be justified, Starr News’ Wilberforce Asare reported from the court, Monday.

His pregnant British wife was found dead in the bathtub of a hotel they stayed in when they visited Ghana for a prayer meeting.

The body of Charmain Adusah (Charmain Speirs), 41, from South Wales, was discovered four days after she died, wrapped in a towel and lying face down in a bath by hotel staff.

The evangelical preacher had been on remand since April on suspicion of murdering Mrs Adusah amid reports he checked out of the hotel on the day his wife died, telling staff his wife was remaining but was ill and did not wish to be disturbed.

Adusah is a self-proclaimed prophet and leader of Global Light Revival Ministries Church, based in Tottenham, north London, which also has branches in Edinburgh and Manchester.
