Passengers appeal to GHA to repair Nyakrom road

Travellers on the Nyakrom – Asikuma road in the Central Region, have appealed to Ghana Highway Authority (GHA) to fill the potholes and repair the damaged portions to avert accidents.

The passengers classified the Nkum – Asikuma stretch of the road forming part of the Nyakrom – Asikuma Highway, as the most dangerous portion, describing it as a death trap.

One of the passengers, Mr I.K. Yampson, a retired educationist and opinion leader of Breman Brakwa in the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District, who spoke to Ghana News Agency at Nyakrom expressed fear, about travelling on it.

He noted that the tarred portion of the road from Nkum to Asikuma had developed deep potholes, which do not augur well for drivers who travel on it at night.

Also, the untarred portion of the road from Nyakrom to Nkum had become slippery due to the rains, compelling drivers to spend about 30 minutes to cover the short stretch.
