Partners to create job opportunities in Takoradi

The Tab Forest Mines Limited, a Ghanaian consortium, in partnership with its foreign investors and the Ghana Supply Company Limited, would develop a 67-acre land in Takoradi-Kejabil into an “All Purpose Total Logistics Centre.”

The project would be undertaken by a holding company in the form of Public Private Partnership and is estimated to cost 150 million US dollars.

Mr Albert Kwabena Tabiri, Chief Executive Officer of Tab Forest Mines Limited, during a news conference in Accra on Tuesday, said the centre would create job opportunities for the youth.

He said: “It is now widely known in Ghana that with the oil find in commercial quantities; Takoradi has now become an investment destination in West Africa and it is only prudent that this partnership takes advantage of the enormous investment potentials that abound.”

Mr Tabiri said a memorandum of understanding had been signed by both parties and preparatory works had begun in earnest.

Togbe Hotormah Amedzake III, General Manager of the project, said they would consult the Ministry of Finance for support and advice to facilitate the quick take-off of the project that would provide employment for many Ghanaians.

Dr Joseph Mamboah-Rockson, Acting Managing Director of the Ghana Supply Company Limited, said the centre would promote sporting and recreational activities for the people.
