Parties urged to abide by code of conduct

Sekondi, Aug. 19, GNA – Leaders of the various political parties and their supporters have been advised to abide strictly by the political parties code of conduct for a peaceful, free and fair election.

In a statement signed by retired Bishop Andrew Okoh, Secretary of the Western Regional Enforcement Body of the 2008 political parties’ code of conduct said it was dangerous for to encourage minors to get involved in the electoral process and urged all those who engaged in such acts to bow their heads in shame.

The statement said parents must take keen interest in their children and educate them on the dangers of engaging in illegal activities.

“We must encourage all to be tolerant, allow and respect divergent views and live at peace with all” the statement said.
