Parliamentary Week takes off on Monday

Accra, Jan. 13, GNA – This year’s Parliamentary Week Celebration of the Fourth Session of the Third Parliament would start with a ” What Do You Know” Quiz Competition at the Banquet Hall of the State House on Sunday, January 18.

The week would be celebrated under the theme: “Election 2004 – Implications for Parliamentary Democracy in Ghana.” There would be a symposium at the British Council Hall on Monday January 19.

On January 20, there would be the ceremonial opening of the Fourth Session of the Third Parliament of the Fourth Republic at the Chamber of Parliament to be followed by a reception at the forecourt, Parliament House latter that evening.

A public forum on Parliament would be held on Wednesday January 21, at the National Theatre followed by a performance in the evening by the Abibigromma Cultural Troupe at the same venue. There would be a dinner dance at the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday, January 24.

The celebrations would be rounded off with a thanksgiving service at the Banquet Hall, State House on Sunday January 25.
