Parliamentary select-committee inspects projects in W/R and C/R

Winneba (C/R), July 31, GNA – The Parliamentary Select-Committee on Education, led by its Chairman Mr Mathias Poaza, on Thursday inspected a number of projects being funded by the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GET-Fund) in the Effutu Municipality.

Among the projects inspected by the 20-member Committee were the Faculty Block, Examination Hall and Auditorium Complex at the North Campus of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW). The others were Technology and Creative Arts Block at the South Campus of the University and a block of six classrooms with toilet facility, staff common room and a store at the University Practice School.

Speaking to newsmen, Mr Poaza, who is also Member of Parliament for Nadoli East in the Upper West Region, emphasized the need to involve beneficiary communities in the execution of projects for monitoring purposes.

He said the Committee had earlier inspected GET-Fund and other government assisted projects at Tarkwa and Takoradi in the Western Region and Cape Coast and Mfantsiman in the Central Region.
