Parliamentary opinion polls-NDC – 117, NPP – 64

Just concluded opinion polls in the 200 constituencies for this year’s Parliamentary elections has indicated the likelihood of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) maintaining it’s hold on Parliament, albeit with a loss of 16 of their current 133 seats, The Dispatch reports.

The NDC is likely to get 117, with the main opposition party, the NPP getting 64 seats, an increase over their current 61.

Other figures put the rejuvenated Convention People’s Party (CPP) at 9 seats, four higher than the present, the National Reform Party (NRP) 5, People’s National Convention (PNC) 2 with 3 independent candidates winning their seats.

The NDC, according to the survey, would lose 3 of its Greater Accra seats with two going to the NPP and one going to Alfred Agbesi an Independent candidate of the Ashaiman Constituency.

Some likely high profile losers in the region include Kofi Wayo (NPP) in East Ayawaso and Dr Nii Josiah Ayeh (NDC) of Ablekuma South.
