Parents urged to save with rural banks for financial assistance

Abuorso (ER), April 11, GNA – Mr Kwabena Amankwa Asiamah, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fanteakwa Rural Bank, has urged parents to cultivate the habit of saving with rural banks to enable them get soft loans to educate their children. He expressed concern about the inability of parents to send their children to higher institution due to lack of funds. Mr Asiamah made the call at the second speech and prize giving day of Abuorso Catholic Basic Schools at Abuorso on Friday. He said the school feeding programme was to supplement the feeding of children at home therefore, parents should not use it as an avenue to deny their children food before they attend school.

Mr Asiamah urged eligible voters who had not registered to register during the re-opening of the voters register in May to exercise their franchise in the December Presidential and Parliamentary elections. Mr Nyaaba Roger, Acting Headmaster of Abuorso Catholic Basic Schools, appealed to NGOs and benevolent organizations to assist needy but brilliant pupils to complete their basic education.
