Parents asked to focus on educational investments

Tema, July 19, GNA – Mrs Lucy Kwapong, Tema Municipal Director of Education, has called on parents to let investment in their children’s education be of priority attention over other commitments. She said dividends of educational investments, have long gestation period and therefore, parents must not adopt luke-warm attitude towards the venture.

Mrs Kwapong made the call in a speech read on her behalf at the Ninth Speech and Prize-Giving Day of Christ Our Lord Nursery School in Tema at the weekend.

She said prompt payment of school fees was the only way parents and guardians could ensure quality teaching and learning. The Director tasked proprietors of private schools to charge realistic school fees.

Teachers must also establish good rapport with parents to facilitate the shaping of the character of students. Mrs Elizabeth Kambi, the Proprietress, said the School which started in 1991, with an initial number of seven pupils, now have an enrolment of 1,000.
