Parents advised to cooperate with teachers to train children

Wa, Oct. 11, GNA- Mr. Godfred Bayong Tangu, Wa Municipal Chief Executive on Friday urged all parents to cooperate with teachers to train children into responsible adults.

He noted that children are often left to go about aimlessly after school hours with little care from parents.

Mr. Tangu said this when he addressed a cross-section of junior secondary school students in the Wa after they had marched through the major streets of the town to sensitise the public on the need for greater discipline.

The Wa District Secretariat of the National Youth Council and the municipal assembly organised the march.

He called on parents to have the courage to punish their children when they exhibit bad behaviour.

The Wa Municipal Chief Executive advised children against experimenting with drugs such as marijuana and cocaine. He also told them to refrain from riding bicycles without lights in the night because it is a lawless behaviour.
