Paramount chief of Ejisu joins ancestors

Ejisu (Ash), June 4, GNA- The death is reported of Nana Aboagye Agyei II, Omanhene of the Ejisu Traditional Area at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi after a short illness. He was 80.

Briefing the press at Ejisu in the Ejisu-Juaben Municipality in Ashanti on Tuesday, Nana Bobie Ansah II, acting President of the Ejisu Traditional Council and chief of Bonwire said the paramount chief known in private life as Mr Bob Anane, a legal practitioner, was enstooled in 1993.

He said the late Omanhene was once a former member of the Council of State.

Nana Bobie Ansah described the late Nana Aboagye Agyei as a chief, who served his people and the country with humility and hard work in his youthful days. He announced that the official one-week celebration of the Omanhene would be observed at Ejisu on Monday, June 9. Nana Aboagye Agyei left behind a wife and 10 children.
