“Pancho” fails to win NPP nomination

..as Osei Prempeh retained as NPP candidate for Nsuta-Kwamang

Deduako-Ashanti, May 19, GNA – Mr Kwame Osei-Prempeh, Deputy Attorney General and Minister for Justice was on Monday, re-elected New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Nsuta-Kwamang Constituency at its primaries held at Deduako in Sekyere Central District.

He polled 79 votes out of the total votes of 96 cast to beat his opponent Mr Kwabena ‘Pancho’ Manu, a Ghanaian-based in the United States of America (USA) who had 16 votes.

The election supervised by officials of the Electoral Commission was peaceful. Mr Sam Cudjoe, Ashanti Regional Secretary of NPP commended the delegates and supporters for the peaceful manner the election were held. He appealed to them to close their ranks and adopt effective campaign strategies to enable the Party become victorious in the 2008 polls.

Mr Osei-Prempeh expressed appreciation to the delegates for the confidence reposed in him and pledged for more development projects in the constituency. Mr Manu congratulated Mr Osei-Prempeh and promised to support him to win the seat.
