Palaver Office Intact … After attempted raid

SOME unknown persons last Saturday attempted to break into the offices of the ‘Ghana Palaver’ at the GICEL Estates, near Weija, in Accra.

The attempted-burglary took place in the afternoon, when the whole block was almost deserted.

The “invaders” fled, after a security detail on the ground floor, had heard an unusual noise upstairs, and enquired whether a worker, who had earlier in the day been on the premises, had returned.

Since the response appeared strange, the security man then moved upstairs, only find that a wall panel had been forcefully removed, while traces of attempts to unlock the door could also be seen.

So far, nothing has been found missing.

Noted as the “key spokesman” of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the attempt to break into the offices of the “Palaver” at this time, an election year, is not surprising; especially so, as the paper turns its heat, hot on the heels of the ruling NPP and sends it panting, even before the race begins.

A report has been made to the police.
