Overlord of Asogli state to visit Kumasi

Kumasi, March 15, GNA – Togbe Afede, Agbogbomefia and overlord of the Asogli state of Ho in the Volta region will arrive in Kumasi on Friday, March 18, this year on a day’s visit to the Ashanti region. Togbe Afede, who has 32 paramountcies under his jurisdiction, will be accompanied by all the divisional chiefs on the visit.

Briefing the Ghana News Agency on Tuesday, Togbe S.K. Fugah, Chairman of the Voltarians Co-ordinating Council (VCC) in Kumasi, said the visit would be memorable and most significant.

He said a major component of the visit would be a courtesy call on the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II by the Agbogbomefia and his entourage.

Togbe Afede will also address a forum of Voltarians resident in the Ashanti region at the Silicon Hotel, where he would brief them on trends and development back in the Volta region.

Togbe Fugah expressed the hope that the visit and the planned call on the Manhyia palace would not only enhance the existing cordial relations between the Asantes and Voltarians, but also provide the forum for exchanges in cultural values between them.

Togbe Fugah appealed to all Voltarians resident in the Ashanti region to turn out in their numbers at the meeting with the Agbogbomefia to enable them to update themselves with trends back home.
