Our educational challenges did not start with Free SHS – NPP MP

Member of Parliament (MP) for Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa Constituency in the Central region, Hon. Anthony Effah says the introduction of Free SHS did not start the challenges in Ghana’s educational sector.

The Free Senior High Schools [SHS] policy started in September 2017 after it was launched by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his government to meet their foremost and most welcomed 2016 campaign promise.

“Challenges in Ghana’s current educational sector did not happen with free SHS or President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his government,” he stated.

According to him “the best we can do for this government and our state is to believe in the policies of the government towards the success of the approach.”

Hon. Anthony Effah added that the President has good conscience towards this country especially future generations, therefore his strive to implement the free SHS strategy on good grounds.

Speaking on UTV’s ‘Adekye Nsroma’ show, he pointed out that his government is not the first and will not be the last that will not completely fulfill the exact words used in their campaign manifesto, as some opposition parties have accused his party of not keeping to the actual words they promised on their campaign platforms.
