Otumfuo’s chief executioner orders arrest of assemblyman over illegal land sale

Police have confirmed they are investigating allegations of fraud leveled against an aspiring Presiding Member (PM) of Atwima Kwawoma District Assembly in the Ashanti Regional, Hon. Emmanuel Asuah Dadzi by Asantehene’s chief executioner

According to the compliant, Baffuor Agyei Kese IV, the accused who is also an elected Assembly member is alleged to have illegally sold a parcel of land in the area belonging to the Adum Stool meant for market construction to a private developer.

Sources say the accused pocketed amount between GH ¢5000 to GH ¢7000 being proceeds from the sale of the land under contention without knowledge of the chiefs who are custodians of lands in the area.

An official complaint was therefore lodged against him at Asokwa Divisional Police Command leading to the arrest Emmanuel Asuah Dadzie who was later granted a police inquiry bail.

The Asokwa Divisional Crime Officer confirmed to mynewsgh.com reporter their outfit is now investigating the allegations leveled against the honourable elected Assembly man and an aspiring Presiding Member.

“We have not completed our investigations yet”, Inspector Fordjour stated.

Meanwhile, the Manhyia Palace has warned against individuals and developers selling lands without approval from the Palace.
