Otumfuo’s billboards pop up in Kumasi

Giant billboards on the 15th anniversary of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II have emerged in Kumasi, the Ashanti regional capital.

The huge billboards, which have the nice portrait of the Asantehene, could be seen at vantage points in the city, including the Asafo Interchange.

The billboards of Asantehemaa, Nana Afia Kobi Serwah Ampem, have also been placed alongside that of the Asante King in the city.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II ascended the Golden Stool in 1999, succeeding the late Otumfuo Opoku Ware II.

The billboards have inscriptions highlighting the series of programmes lined up for Otumfuo’s 15th anniversary.

The emergence of the giant billboards has created awareness about the Asantehene’s 15th Anniversary. Scores of people were seen admiring the huge billboards of the Asante Monarch.

The Manhyia Palace, the official seat of the Asantehene, has lined up series of activities to mark the occasion, this year.

Several durbars and church services have been attended by Otumfuo Osei II and other dignitaries.

The historic occasion would be climaxed with a grand durbar at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on May 11.
