Otumfuo Education Fund assists 11 Ashanti schools

Kumasi, Sept 3, GNA- The Otumfuo Education Fund on Wednesday donated 15 million cedis each to 11 non-urban Senior Secondary Schools (SSS) in the Ashanti Region.

The amount is to help provide libraries, classroom blocks, computer laboratories, and water tanks for the schools. The beneficiary schools are Toase, Sekyedumase, Tuobodom, Nkoranza, Mankranso, Bompata and Mansoman secondary schools.

The rest were Saint Jerome secondary at Abofour, Adanwomase secondary, Jacobu secondary and the Asare Bediako secondary at Akrokerri.

Presenting the cheques for the amount, Nana Brefo Boateng, Executive Secretary of the Fund, the aim of the Fund is to improve infrastructure in the schools and make them attractive to both teachers and students.

Nana Boateng appealed to paramount chiefs who have been asked by Otumfuo to collect the contributions of their subjects to enable the Fund to generate enough funds for school projects.
