Otumfuo Charity Foundation receives books for distribution

Kumasi, Dec. 2, GNA – Otumfuo Charity Foundation, established by the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, to provide support for orphaned and other socially disadvantaged children has taken delivery of large quantity of exercise books for distribution.

This was a donation from the Sekyere Rural Bank in the Ashanti Region.

Mr Kwame Dapaa Siakwan, Chairman of the Board of Directors, said it was the bank’s contribution towards efforts at caring for the under-privileged.

“We see this as a corporate social responsibility”, he said and pledged to stand with the Foundation every step of the way to achieve its noble objective.

The Chief Executive Officer, Mr Kwadwo Obessey Antwi, said the gesture was meant to give back to society, the benefits the bank had derived from the public.

He said the financial entity is proud to be associated with the effort at assisting to promote education.

Mr Fred Kyei-Sarpong, Marketing Co-ordinator of the Foundation, said the books would be distributed to about 1,500 needy school children.

He thanked the bank for the donation and invited other individuals, groups and organisations to emulate the kind gesture.
