Otabil clearly crossed the line – NDC

A Member of the Communication Team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sam George has stated that the General Overseer of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), Pastor Mensah Otabil crossed the line in his choice of words during his press conference on November 12, 2012 .

Speaking on Citi FM’s The Big Issue on Saturday, he opined that he found it uncharacteristic of a Pastor of his calibre to make such comments when politicians were being encouraged to be very decorous in their pronouncements.

Pastor Otabil at the press briefing called on President John Mahama to take action and stop the manipulation of his sermons by some members of the NDC for political gain.

According to Mr. George, “I believe what is right is right, and what is wrong is wrong. I find it difficult to comprehend this kind of anger people are trying to paint as holy anger.”

“Let me just run through the words Dr. Mensah Otabil used to describe what he called the NDC and its affiliates and surrogates. ‘Defamatory, unethical, criminal, malicious, Machiavellian, evil, mischief, treachery; no known and established political animal has traded these words amongst themselves,” he concluded.
