OSP Confirms Review of Ken Ofori-Atta’s Request to Be Removed from INTERPOL Red Notice

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has confirmed that the bid by Kenneth Nana Yaw Ofori-Atta to have his name removed from INTERPOL’s Red Notice is still under consideration.

In a public update issued on 19 November 2025, the OSP noted that the Commission for the Control of INTERPOL’s Files notified Ghanaian authorities in October that Ofori-Atta had formally applied for the withdrawal of the alert.

Ghana submitted an initial response on 22 October 2025. The Commission later communicated on 7 November that Ofori-Atta had presented additional arguments, and consequently requested a further response from Ghana by 21 November.

According to the OSP, the review process is ongoing as the Commission continues its assessment of the case. The office also explained that the identities and details of applicants are typically withheld from public records until a final determination is made.

The statement urged the public to ignore contrary reports, describing such claims as inaccurate and intended to mislead.
