Osino GPRTU gets new Officers

Akim Osino (E/R), Feb. 14, GNA – The Osino branch of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) of TUC in the Fanteakwa District has elected new branch executive to steer the affairs of the Union for the next two years.

Mr Daniel Owusu, was elected chairman, Mr Kofi Owusu, vice chairman, Mr Samuel Darkwa, secretary, Mr George Ampofo, first trustee and Mr Kwame Gyamfi, second trustee.

In his acceptance speech, Mr Owusu promised to work tirelessly to redeem the sinking image of the driving profession in the area.

He enumerated some of the teething problems affecting drivers in the area and appealed to the Fanteakwa District Assembly to develop their station to check congestion and provide defined locations for pedestrians and on-coming vehicles to avoid accidents.

Mr Owusu also appealed to the Assembly for the re-tarring of the roads from Osino to Saamang-Juaso-Hemang and Abompe since they had become death traps.
