Speaking at the function Mr Fosuaba Mensah Banahene, Administrator of GETFund, said the fund allocated 35.14 billion cedis to the polytechnic four years ago but it has been able to access 78 percent of the amount. He said this year the Board of Trustees of the fund has approved a total amount of 11 billion cedis for the polytechnic to complete on going projects.

Mr Banahene said the fund would continue to support the polytechnic to build its second campus at Butumajebu near Takoradi.

Mr Banahene said at the tertiary level, all the 18 public institutions have benefited from useful projects funded by the GETFund.

He said the GETFund is funding about 1,000 single projects from basic school level to the tertiary level throughout the country. The projects included construction of lecture theatres, classrooms, administration blocks, hostels, water systems, libraries, computer centres, research grants, grants for student loans and contributions to the programmes of the Scholarship Secretariat.
