Orientation workshop organized for 70 trained teachers

Manso-Nkwanta (Ash), April 23, GNA- The Amansie West District Directorate of Education, has organized a day’s orientation workshop for 70 newly trained teachers at Manso-Nkwanta in Ashanti. It aimed at equipping them with techniques and skills in teaching necessary to move the New Education Reform forward.

Mrs Beatrice Boakye Ansah-Prempeh, the District Director of Education, asked participants to take the workshop seriously to enable them to acquire skills to enable them work effectively. She appealed to teachers to work with School Management Committees and Parent-Teachers-Associations to improve on the fallen educational standards in the district.

Mrs Ansah-Prempeh commended teachers in the area for working tirelessly to move the district from the 17th position in 2002 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results to 5th position in 2007 in the Ashanti Region.

She advised teachers to desist from drunkenness, lateness, absenteeism and other social vices. The participants appealed to people to provide them with accommodation to enable them work effectively and efficiently.
