Organisation for Drugs-Free Africa nominates new board of governors

The Executive Council of the Organisation for Drugs-Free Africa (OFDFA), continental anti-drugs Non-Governmental Organisation, has approved the nomination of 35 persons to serve as members of its board of governors.

The board of governors shall be responsible for selecting the annual winners of two awards: The Africa Leadership Excellence Awards (anti-drugs) Heads of State Category, which is to be awarded to heads of states, one each from North, Southern, West, East and Central Africa and the African Anti-drugs Journalist of the Year.

The nominated members of the board of governors include Dr Bernard Otabil, General Manager of Ghana News Agency and Francis Rex Annan, Director of Administration, Ghana News Agency, Kofi Bentum Quartson, Narcotics Control Board, Steve Mallory, Editor-in-Chief of Africa Watch Magazine; Affail Monney, GJA President; David Agbenu, Ghanaian Times Editor; Ransford Tetteh, Daily Graphic Editor and Mrs Gifty Afenyie-Dadzie.

Also among the nominees are Mr. K. Ebo Quansah, Ghanaian Chronicle Editor, Afia Pokua of Adom FM, Kwame Sefa Kayi and Assorow Ben Batabe, Director of Communications for the Episcopal Conference of Catholic Bishops in Africa and Madagascar.

Completing the 35-man list, are journalists, editors and editors-in-chief of various media houses and news agencies across Africa.
