Oppostion can’t force gov’t to publish GYEEDA report – Murtala

The Government has urged the public to treat with caution the alleged draft copy of the investigative report on the financial malfeasance at GYEEDA released to media houses by the pro-opposition youth group, the Young Patriot.

The group on Thursday published what it claims is a draft copy of the GYEEDA report to various media houses in the country.

But speaking exclusively to XYZ News, the Deputy Minister of Information and Media Relations, Murtala Mohammed said government will not be coerced into towing a path dictated by members of the opposition.

“The willingness to ensure that corruption is not given a breathing space in this country is unflinching, it is absolutely unequivocal and people must understand it,” the deputy information minister said.

Murtala Mohammed added that “we will not reduce the presidency into responding to statements by so called Young Patriots…as far as I am concerned Government has not released any report”

“Responding to such things is feeding into their agenda”

The deputy information minister described the call by the opposition and other organizations as “preposterous”.
