Operation Vanguard – Mahama’s killing influencing military’s psychology

Security Expert David Agbee has said the killing of Major Maxwell Mahama is impacting the psychology of the security taskforce as continue their fight against illegal mining in the country.

At least one person was killed after a confrontation with the team in Wawase in the Ashanti region Sunday, while some excavators belonging to some illegal miners have also been set ablaze in the Eastern region.

Speaking to Starr News, Mr. Agbee said “ the murder has really influenced their psychology; in that, they are not going to joke with anybody who will actually threaten their livelihood.

“We need to re-emphasize the point that nobody should challenge the military at this point in time, although it is sad that this thing has actually happened.”

He called on Ghanaians not to challenge the authority of the security agencies.

“It is a dangerous situation if ordinary civilians want to challenge the authority of the security agencies especially the military, and so we all need to tell our ordinary civilians, we need to be tactful at this point in time, we need to obey the instructions of the military,” he added.
