Opambour to host crusade against Fulani herdsmen

The Leader and Founder of Ebenezer Miracle Worship Center in Kumasi Reverend Dr. Ebenezer Opambour Adarkwa Yiadom alias ‘Prophet One’ has condemned continuous killing of Agogo residents by Fulani herdsmen in Asante Akyem Agogo North district and its environs in Ashanti Region.

This, Prophet One has announced plans to host a mega crusade at Agogo against cattle owners and Fulani herdsmen in the coming days.

The out spoken man of God expressed disappointment in the various security agencies especially the police command’s inability to eject Fulani herdsmen and their cattle from the farming community.

He called for immediate arrest of cattle owners who have equipped Fulani herdsmen with guns for protection.

Addressing members of his church on Sunday in Kumasi he wondered where the Fulani herdsmen get their ammunition from.

‘Where did the Fulani herdsmen get the guns from?, have cattle owners advised the herdsmen against maiming and killing of residents, isn’t it up hauling that they are killing Agogo women. Prophet One, I come from Asante Akyem Agogo, if security forces do not act on this menace, am going to host a mega crusade against nefarious activities by Fulani extraction,’ he fumed.

Several people have been killed in the community by Fulani herdsmen despite Ashanti Regional Security Council’s (REGSEC) inauguration of operation ‘cow leg’, in 2015 with the aim to flush out all Fulani herdsmen from the community.

The insecurity in the area has compelled farmers mostly women to equip themselves with rifles against Fulani herdsmen attacks on their lives and farm crops.
