A flagbearer aspirant of the Convention People’s Party Samia Yaba Nkrumah has stated that her supposed brother Onzy Nkrumah was planted by detractors of the CPP to destroy the party.
According to her, Onzy who describes himself as a son of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah is a “fraudster” whose only aim is to cause confusion within the CPP.
Onzy who was seeking to become the flagbearer of the CPP ahead of the 2016 general elections was disqualified by the party executives for not following the laid down procedures.
Onzy has accused the party’s former Chairperson of masterminding his disqualification from the race. According to him, there were instances when his posters were removed illegally by supposed allies to Samia Nkrumah, describing it as disgraceful.
But speaking on Starr Chat Wednesday, Samia told host Bola Ray that Onzy does not deserve the attention he gets and must be ignored by Ghanaians.
“This chap Onzy is a fraudster, we [Nkrumah’s children] have come to that conclusion, the manner in which he appeared on the scene, the fact that some of us knew him before he declared his Kwame Nkrumah stand…so there are many instances that we can cite.
“Onzy is just one of the many political ploys to make it difficult for the CPP…to cause confusion in the CPP, planted by external forces”.
