One killed in accident at Adawso

Koforidua, Jan 12, GNA – One person lost his life and two

others were seriously injured when a truck on which they were

travelling overturned after running into a ditch at Adawso near

Koforidua. The deceased, Mumuni Iddrisu, 26, was the mate of the truck

loaded with maize from the Brong-Ahafo Region heading towards

Mampong Akuapem. Superintendent of Police James Sarfo Peprah, the Eastern

Regional Motor Traffic and Transport Unit Commander said the

driver, Mohamed Zakari, alleged that an oncoming vehicle ran into

his lane and in an attempt to avoid collision he plunged into the

ditch. The body of the deceased had been deposited at the Tetteh

Quarshie Memorial Hospital at Mampong Akuapem whiles the

other passenger and the driver are receiving treatment at the same

hospital.
