The driver of a tipper truck carrying sand met his untimely death on Thursday afternoon when the truck was involved in an accident at Amoakrom, a suburb on the Wenchi – Sunyani road in the Brong Ahafo Region.
Two other occupants who were trapped in the vehicle for close to an hour were however rescued.
An eye witness, Mr Raymond who spoke to Kasapafmonline.com stated that the accident occurred when truck which was descending a hilly section of the road suddenly developed a mechanical fault when a spring beneath the vehicle broke resulting in the truck somersaulting and overturning in the process.
The driver died instantly while the other two sustained broken arms and legs.
The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the Wenchi Hospital Mortuary while the injured are receiving treatment.
