One dead in Konadu Rawlings’ convoy accident; others injured

One person is reported dead in the campaign convoy of the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDP), Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings on the Techiman road in the Brong Ahafo region.

Confirming the incident to host of Ultimate Breakfast Show Lantam Papanko, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of NDP Agya Owusu Ansah explained that one of the campaign vehicles collided with an approaching vehicle from Kumasi resulting in the death of one person and 8 others injured.

The Flagbearer who was not hurt has proceeded on her campaign tour to the Western region.

He said they still have an agenda to pursue and that they will not suspend their campaign no matter how sad they are.

‘The flagebearer and her entourage were coming from Techiman to Kumasi, one of our vehicles collided with another vehicle, just on the spot we lost the Offinso North constituency Chairman, about 8 persons were injured, she is saddened by the event but she is doing well and has left for Western Region and will return to Central region,’ he explained.

He indicated that the injured persons who were rushed to the Holy Family Hospital in Techiman are currently receiving treatment on admission.
