One birth at Ho Hospital on Christmas Day

One live birth and a stillborn birth were registered at the Ho District Hospital on Christmas day.

Madam Jarwin Danku, Senior Staff Midwife made this known to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at the Hospital on Friday.

She said the live birth, which was a male took place at 2100 hours while the stillborn female was delivered earlier at 0842 hours. Madam Danku said the 30 year-old-mother of the stillborn called at the hospital with the baby already dead in the womb but went through normal delivery soon on arrival.

She said available records indicated that the mother of the stillborn, who was to have delivered in November, last visited the hospital on the December 22, and was referred to see a doctor. There was, however, no indication that she had done so. Madam Danku said nine expectant women are on admission.
